PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES:  Expert Witness, Delaware schools desegregation, Federal Court; developer of school desegregation plans; led the Governor’s Council on Latino Affairs, the Latino Task Force, the Governor’s Council on Child Protective Services, and the Delaware Advisory Committee to the US Commission on Civil Rights for over 17 years cumulatively; Vice-President of Delaware’s United Way; worked with Latinos in prison; a founding member of TransAfrica, Charter Member of the National Museum of African American History and Culture; produced “Delaware Hispanics” video program; featured in national bilingual poster “Be Somebody/Quédate en la Escuela”; started Latino Studies Program and was first Dean/Director of Latino Affairs at Indiana University; fought and won two court cases largely pro-se, one desegregating a Chicago community and the other generating employment opportunities for disenfranchised populations in the State of Delaware; facilitated over $6,000,000 in federal funds for school districts in Delaware; appointed to legislative committee which resulted in the creation of the Delaware Department of Children and Family Services; Advisory Member, City of Newark Community Development/Revenue Sharing Committee; Governor's Commission on Adult Entertainment Establishments; Producer, Host and Presenter: Frank Sinatra's Centennial (Newark Senior Center)...
